黑芝麻核桃牛油蛋糕

Saw this 黑芝麻核桃牛油蛋糕 recipe from Ching blog and at first it did not come into my mind that i wanted to do this, but pass by a shop and saw the black sesame and walnut, so bought it. My mixer broke down last week and have bought a new one, first cake to bake using the new mixer.




Think i did not use powder, so my cake turn out like that and the walnut sink inside the cake.


Just now saw black sesame powder in the supermarket and bought a packet, will make again when i 心血来潮.

Grand Shanghai

Friend JN birthday was in Apr 18, we were suppose to celebrate her birthday before her actual date, but because another friend was not feeling well, we postpone it till after her actual day, then we celebrate her birthday.

Actually, at first, another friend booked a buffet dinner at a hotel, but because JN heard from her saleperson about this Grand Shanghai and she wanted to try out this place.

香蕉巧克力方块Cupcake

I was not satisfied with the 香蕉巧克力方块蛋糕 i did the other time as it was very soft and break easily, so i thought i try it out again. This round i use lesser mashes banana and make it into cupcake (Total 7 cupcake i make). I am satisfied with it this round.

New York Cheesecake




I have printed out this New York Cheesecake from Aunty Yochana blog quite sometimes ago, but didn't do it till recently have the urge to do it. As for the Crust, i used oreo biscuits. As i was in a hurry to cut it before it cool down completely, there's a crack in the cake.

(Recipe from Aunty Yochana blog)

New York Sweet Crust:

125 gm. plain flour
50 gm. butter
1/4 tsp. baking powder
50 gm. sugar
1 no. small egg

Ingredients for filling:

600 gm. Cream cheese - room temperature
120 gm. Sugar
30 gm. plain flour
4 nos. medium size eggs
125 gm. sour cream
1 Tbsp. Lemon zest
1 tsp. Vanilla essence

apricot gel: 2 Tbsp. apricot jam + 80 to 100 gm. water + 1/2 tsp. agar agar powder + 1/2 tsp. instant jelly

Method:

(1) For crust: cream butter and sugar till creamy. Add in egg a little at a time till evenly mixed. Add in flour and baking powder and mix into a dough. Rest for about 20 mins. Then roll out the dough and lay into a 9" springform tin. Bake at 175C for about 15 mins. then remove from oven and let it cool.
(2) Beat cream cheese with sugar till creamy. Add in lemon zest and vanilla essence.
(3) Add eggs, 1 at a time until finished.
(4) Add in plain flour and then pour in the sour cream and mix.
(5) Pour the cream cheese filling into the baked crust and steam bake for about 1 hour 10 mins. or until center is almost set.
(6) Leave in the oven for about 30 mins (oven switched off) and then remove from oven or you can leave it inside till cooled.
(7) Chill in the fridge and glaze the cheese cake with apricot gel.
(8) Serve chilled.
